7 Deadly YoSins Series: YoPrejudice

To continue with our series of the 7 Deadly YoSins, we bring to the front a topic that cannot only be debatable, but can be quite emotional as well. Let’s tackle this next topic with an open mind, YoPrejudice.

What is YoPrejudice?

From Dictionary.com:

  1. any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable.

  2. unreasonable feelings, opinions, or attitudes, especially of a hostile nature, regarding a racial, religious, or national group.

It is sad to say, but there are some people that will drain you of your good energy, whether they are aware of it or not, because of all of their negativity.

Negativity in anything can lead to such an empty shell, and can be quite painful to others that must endure it. In YoVille, we want a play area where any hate actions towards other YoVillians are eliminated. Calling names and playing childish head games should be cut out of these sites that use this type of platform to attempt to unite us all as equals.

YoPrejudice covers a wide range of  other YoSins that we see happening within our quaint  town of YoVille.

We have seen and heard of events being made just to target those of a different race, religion and/or group of yovillians disliked by other individuals.

(This is not just black and white anymore and for YoVille, this has grown to include EVERY nationality different from the person(s)  hosting the events.)

YoPrejudice can be aimed at more than just one individual. Groups of individuals can be the target.  Below are some of the types groups that we have seen become the intended mark for belittlement and destruction of a good reputation within the community.

  • Long time forum members
  • Police/Mafia Gangs
  • Fan sites or Fan pages
  • Grouped Veterans/Newbies

This type of YoPrejudice is probably one of the least seen of the three and it really doesn’t seem to get as much negative attention in our town as YoRacism does. Regardless, as the others, it is a personal preference and beliefs in which deserves respect towards the decision each individual has made concerning their real life.

With each ‘sub-category’ under YoPrejudice, comes its own problems and heartaches. However, keep in mind at the end of the day, it all boils down to choice and respect for our fellow neighbors. Each community has it’s bad apples, but we do not have to listen or follow them.

Do you see these types of events while you are out in our community shopping, partying, or just visiting others? If you do see these events listed, do you go to them? Share your thoughts on how you handle it if you witness these kinds of hate events or talk.
